According to very reliable source, close to Lithuanian basketball, Tomas Delininkaitis is on the verge of signing a contract with LKL runners-ups Zalgiris in the upcoming days.

Delininkaitis have been seen in Kaunas today and according to credible sources he is there to sign a deal with Zalgiris, after negotiations with PAOK Thessaloniki fell through due to debts the Greek clubs had towards the player.

Delininkaitis was coming off a good tournament with Lithuania NT in Turkey and was looking to cash in the success. But with offers from abroad being less than satisfactory, Zalgiris was the best solution for him.

Zalgiris was also looking for a complementary point guard after Jasikevicius didn’t even reply to their offer.

This is expected to be the roster-closing move for Zalgiris who is now all set for another busy season.

Editor’s note: Zalgiris confirmed the signing 20 minutes after TB published the news. The player signed a 2+1 years contract.
