LaVar Ball has openly stated that his family have put Lithuania on the map.
LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball started slowly but have since settled into the Vytautas roster, featuring in LKL games as well as their exhibition Big Baller Brand Challenge games.
Speaking to ESPN UK, Ball said: “Lithuania was nothing,” LaVar said to ESPN UK in the most recent of his boisterous rants. “Nobody even heard of Lithuania.
“That’s all that comes out of your mouth now. Lithuania-Lithuania-Lithuania. Why? Because the Ball boys have reemerged over in Lithuania. Yeah, we put Lithuania on the map.”
Basketball in Lithuania is widely considered the national sport. They have won Eurobasket in 2003 and have won numerous medals in Olympic competition as well as Eurobasket.
