If Chinese league side Zhejiang Lions, were eliminated from CBA playoff contention, Ioannis Bourousis is open to returning to Panathinaikos.
Bourouis, a 2015 EuroLeague champion with Real Madrid spent one season with Panathinaikos in 2016 and was a massive fan favourite with the team.
That despite his previous spells with bitter rivals Olympiacos.
But whilst in Athens during a Greek League game, Bourousis was not shy about his intentions with Panathinaikos.
Bourousis explained to Sport FM: “I have a contract for next season in China, in which there’s an opt-out clause which I can use. However, I believe that I will stay in China. If our season ended in February, I had the green light to play for a EuroLeague team.
“So if that was the case, I would have returned to Panathinaikos or to a Spanish team. There’s an open door for at Panathinaikos since last season.”
