It was a landmark night for the NBA’s European contingent with a game-winner, a 40-point game and a triple-double all recorded.

The wide range of performances were overshadowed though by a season-ending Achilles injury to New Orleans Pelicans big DeMarcus Cousins.

But for the Euro stars, they shone through, highlighted by a 41-point, 13-rebound performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee Bucks’ 116-91 win over the Brooklyn Nets. The ‘Greek Freak’ also picked up seven assists, two blocks and two steals in the win.

The impressive showing comes after Antetokounmpo missed a chunk of games following the dismissal of head coach of Jason Kidd.

“I definitely felt lost because this is what I love to do, to play games,” Antetokounmpo said to pool reporters post-game.

Spaniard Ricky Rubio hit a clutch three-pointer for the Utah Jazz with five seconds left to ultimately secure a 97-93 win on the road to the Toronto Raptors.

Rubio stole the headlines in Canada, but Rudy Gobert also featured with a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

For the Raptors, Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas had 28 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.

Marc Gasol hit a triple-double for the Memphis Grizzlies but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Gasol got 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists but the Grizzlies lost 109-100 to a Clipper side that saw an NBA-career-high 18 points from Serbian Milos Teodosic.
