Limoges president Frederic Forte has passed away aged just 47, it has been reported.
Forte died suddenly on New Year’s Eve almost one month before his 48th birthday (January 27) Le Populaire reports.
Forte was the president of French side Limoges, a club where he spent seven years of his playing career, since 2004.
As a player, his best memory was a decisive steal he made on future NBA champion Toni Kukoc during the final moments of the 1993 EuroLeague title game againstBenetton Treviso.
It was Limoges’ only continental title.
