Just a few days ago Rudy Fernandez admitted that he is in talks with Panathinaikos and that he would be interested in playing for the Greek club, something that was further verified by his coach in the NT Sergio Scariolo. Now he admitted in a radio show that in case he would return to Europe he would also be interested in playing for Barcelona.

Does this have anything to do with the alleged signing of Romain Sato by Panathinaikos? It is unclear. Best assumption is Rusy is keeping his options open upon a possible return to Europe. His prime objective however is to remain in the NBA and play for the New York Knicks. The Blazers were in contact with the Knicks before the NBA Draft also, regarding a possible trade, but they couldn’t reach an agreement. It seems if the two NBA franchises won’t agree on a trade this time either, the door of Rudy’s return to Europe is open.
