Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv coach Neven Spahija may be forced to miss his team’s EuroLeague trip to Khimki on Thursday for one of the most unexpected reasons.

In a story first reported by Eurohoops, Spahija was not granted a visa to enter Russia due to his passport being full of stamps.

Now, with no blank pages on his current passport, which reportedly still has years left before he can renew, Maccabi face a crisis ahead of their two-game EuroLeague week, which also includes a home game on Tuesday against Anadolu Efes.

A club statement said that “the matter has been addressed for a few days now and it is expected to be resolved by game time.”

Maccabi are currently in fifth place on a 4-2 record.
