Real Madrid have confirmed that big man Ognjen Kuzmic is out for the season and now they have Eurobasket champion Gasper Vidmar in their sights.

The Liga Endesa side are light on big men following Kuzmic’s injury and also Anthony Randolph, with both players injured during Real’s win over CSKA Moscow in the EuroLeague on Thursday.

Per Eurohoops:

According to Eurohoops sources, there’s not any offer yet on the table for the player and the Turkish club. Still, Real Madrid needs to negotiate with Banvit, if they want to make a run for signing Vidmar.

The Slovenian Eurobasket champ signed a new two-year deal with Banvit last summer. The contract doesn’t include any kind of an opt-out clause and that’s why it will not be [easy] for Madrid to get him.

The question is if the “Whites” are willing to start negotiating, or if they will look elsewhere for the big man they need after Ognjen Kuzmic’s injury.
