After five years in the NBA, Olympiacos’ Brian Roberts believes that the gap between the best league in the world and EuroLeague is getting smaller.

The 31-year-old began his professional career with the Israeli side Hapoel Gilboa Galil before heading to Brose Bamberg for three years. Two stints with the Hornets and TrailBlazers eventually led him back to the EuroLeague, signing with the Piraeus outfit in the off-season.

“I felt that is a good opportunity for me to come over play at basically an… NBA level,” Roberts told Eurohoops. “That’s how I feel about where Olympiacos plays at.”

After all, the gap between the NBA and EuroLeague is indeed getting smaller and smaller, according to the American guard. “NBA teams seeing how good basketball here is. They are signing players to come and play right away,” said Roberts.

“The talent level is getting closer to the NBA. Not right there yet. But definitely closer,” added the new Olympiacos floor general.
