After losing its shooting guard Jordan McRae for the next two months due to a shoulder injury, Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz reacted quickly by signing veteran shooting guard Matt Janning, the club announced on Friday.

Janning (1.93 meters, 29 years old) signed a two-month contract, to be with Baskonia during time McRea is expected to be out.

He spent last season with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, where in 7DAYS EuroCup action he posted 11.3 points, 2.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds, while in the VTB League he averaged 10.6 points, 3.4 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.2 steals. During his professional career, Janning also played for Anadolu Efes Istanbul in Turkey, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem in Israel, Cibona Zagreb in Croatia, Montepaschi Siena and Casale Monferrato in Italy in addition to stints in the NBA D-League with Maine and Rio Grande.

Janning has appeared in 62 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games, with averages of 7.8 points and 39.6% three-point accuracy.
