Spain were dealt a massive blow ahead of their Eurobasket defence at the end of the month when Sergio Llull was carried off with a suspected knee injury.

Llull was helped off in the first quarter of Spain’s 89-71 defeat to Belgium in a preparation game.

The guard was rushed to a local hospital for medical examination and everyone is expecting the verdict of the doctors about the condition of his right knee within the next days.

UPDATE:

Sergio Llull has injured his ACL, according to multiple sources in Spain.

The ACB Twitter account had also reported that Llull has injured his ACL. He will miss Eurobasket and looks set to miss the entire EuroLeague season with Real Madrid.

There is currently no timetable for his return.
