Sacramento Kings have renounced their draft rights for late second round pick Dejan Bodiroga, 22 YEARS after they first selected him.

Three-time EuroLeague champion and two-time Final Four MVP Bodiroga, was selected by the Kings in 1995 but the Serbian remained in Europe playing for Real Madrid, Panathinaikos, Barcelona before retiring in 2007 with Lottomatica Roma.

But at the youthful age of 44, Bodiroga’s NBA dream has officially been shattered. Even if it has been exactly ten years since he called it a day.

Could the Kings be making a push for want-away Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving?

Irving has recently told Cleveland’s front office that he wants to be traded. The USA international wants to be on a team where he can be a leader.

Now that Sacramento have dismissed a European legend, could they be making room for a future legend?
