Georgios Printezis scored a last gasp lay-up to hand Olympiacos a dramatic 79-77 win over Panathinaikos at the OAKA.

Vassilis Spanoulis controlled the final possession for Olympiacos, driving toward the lane then feeding his long-time partner Printezis for a layup and free throw with three seconds left that decided the outcome.

The result broke a tie in the standings between them, raising Olympiacos to a 5-3 record and dropping Panathinaikos to 4-4.

“We had control of the game for most part, expect the third period when we lost our concentration and gave up some easy points,” said Olympiacos coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos.

“This also hurt our production on offense. We reacted at the beginning of the fourth period, and it was a real derby after that. It was very important that in the crucial moments, in the fourth period we allowed just 14 points. That was the key for the win because we showed character in the end.

“Although Panathinaikos had a four-point lead in the last 3 minutes, we were very concentrated in that last part of the game. We showed character and won the game.”

Spanoulis finished with 22 points and eight assists for the winners.

The el’ Clasico that was heavily anticipated turned out to be the EuroLeague’s most one-sided contest as Real Madrid went second in the table by thrashing Barcelona 102-63 in Catalonia.

Sergio Llull finished with 20 points and seven assists, while Randolph had 18 points plus 11 rebounds and three massive blocks as Real took control early and never let Barca get into any offensive rhythm.

“We played a good all-around game, defensively and offensively,” Real coach Pablo Laso said. “I believe that we have been able to dominate many aspects of the game and had the control of the game.”

Tyrese Rice had 23 points for a woeful Barcelona who fall to 4-4.

CSKA Moscow found the going tough but they eventually pulled clear of a stubborn Zalgiris side 95-86 in Russia.

Zalgiris though led for the majority of the game until the fourth quarter when CSKA took control with an 11-2 burst which the Lithuanian side could not come back from.

Milos Teodosic, who was presented with the EuroLeague MVP award for october, pre-game, led the way with 25 points.

Galatasaray claimed their second win of the EuroLeague by downing local rivals Darussafaka Dogus 85-81 in Istanbul.

The EuroCup champions relied on outstanding performances from Tibor Pleiss and Emir Preldzic to improve to 2-6, while handing Darussafaka its first road loss and dropping Coach David Blatt’s side to 5-3.

Pleiss erupted for 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for the winners.
