ImageIn the last games of the week Panathinaikos, Lottomatica Roma and Unicaja Malaga all secured their first win over Armani Jeans Milano, Caja Laboral and Partizan respectively.


Euroleague champions Panathinaikos showed their class in the last quarter when they overcame the fighting team of AJ Milano 75-67 although they were missing key players such as Tsartsaris and Batiste while Obradovic even used Georgian prospect Georgi Shermadini for 12 minutes. Spanoulis and Pekovic led the Greens while Rocca and Finley tried to do their best for the Italians but that was not enough.

In Belgrade Partizan held the lead for 30 minutes but their young and inexperienced team collpased in the last quarter. losing 72-64 at home. Georgios Printezis continues to impress in his new team scoring 16 points with 100% from the field goal. But he was not alone in "Pionir" as Joel Freeland stepped up in the last quarter while the experience of Carlos Jimenez was noted too. For the Serbian team 18 year old Djekic shined in his Euroleague debut while their new acquirement, McCaleeb had an excellent first half but was tired in the second half.

In Rome now where the host team continued their great form and beat Caja Laboral 77-65. Ibby Jaaber was their leader once more while Gigli and Hutson stood by him to secure the team;s first win in the competition. Caja Laboral paid dearly for their many absences, especially in the front line where Splitter was left fighting all alone.
