Vidas GineviciusLithuanian champions Lietuvos Rytas completed the signing of a 31-year-old guard Vidas Ginevicius who was without a club this season.  1.95 m tall player played for Rytas's arch rivals Zalgiris during 2000-2007 period before moving to Spartak Primorje in Russia. Ginevicius signed one year contract with Rytas and should make a debut in the coming weeks.

Vidas Ginevicius becomes the third point guard in Rytas after Bojan Popovic and Evaldas Dainys. Though he should take a place of a backup point guard leaving Dainys as the third option.

After the news about possible Ginevicius move to Rytas appeared Zalgiris fans asked their club to sign the player to prevent him from moving to the rival club. Paulius Motiejunas, Zalgiris GM, made a decision to keep the young guards instead and described this move as a heartbreaking.

Lietuvos Rytas hosts Efes Pilsen in Siemens Arena on Thursday which will open their third attempt in Euroleague.
