ImageReal Madrid officially announced that they are releasing Marko Tomas yesterday and subsequently the player signed a one-year deal with Cibona Zagreb as the two parts had already agreed terms.

24 year old had signed with Real back in 2005 where he stayed for two seasons. He was then sent to Fuenlabrada to gain experience for the 2007-2008 season before returning to Real.

Last season he averaged 5.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in about 13' of play in the Euroleague with Real Madrid. He is returning to his native Croatia with which he has won gold in the European Junior Championship 2002 while he was also part of the 2005 and 2007 senior Croatian National Teams. He is 202cm tall and plays as a guard-forward.
