Tim Hardaway Jr. has agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Miami Heat using the taxpayer midlevel exception.

The veteran guard is coming off a productive season with the Nuggets, where he appeared in 80 games and averaged 13.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 26.6 minutes per game.

He also shot an efficient 40.7 percent from three-point range.

Hardaway is expected to provide Miami with additional perimeter shooting and floor spacing as the Heat continue building around newly acquired superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
