The NBA has officially set the salary cap for the 2026-27 season at $164.961 million, slightly below the league’s most recent projection of $165 million and down from an earlier estimate of $166 million.

The luxury tax threshold has been established at $200.428 million. Both the salary cap and tax level will take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on July 1, while the league’s free agency moratorium will conclude at noon ET on July 6.

For the upcoming season, the minimum team salary has been set at $148.465 million, with the first apron at $209.015 million and the second apron at $221.686 million.

The NBA also confirmed the three mid-level exception amounts under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception will be $15.044 million, the Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception will be $6.064 million, and teams operating with cap room will have access to a $9.366 million Mid-Level Exception.
