Contract talks between Jalen Duren and the Pistons remain ongoing, with the young center reportedly aiming for a deal worth approximately $40 million per season.

According to Mike Scotto of HoopsHype, league executives believe Duren’s camp is targeting a salary equal to roughly 25 percent of the NBA’s salary cap.

However, despite that asking price, most executives around the league still expect the two sides to eventually reach an agreement.

The prevailing expectation is that Duren will remain in Detroit on a new long-term contract, with many projecting his annual salary to settle somewhere in the mid-$30 million range once negotiations conclude.
