The Sacramento Kings are adding another undrafted rookie after agreeing to an Exhibit 10 contract with former SMU guard B.J. Edwards.
Edwards spent his freshman season at Tennessee before transferring to SMU, where he developed into one of the ACC’s top all-around guards.
During his senior campaign, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged 12.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists while leading the conference with 2.3 steals per game.
The 23-year-old also shot an efficient 47.4 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three-point range, showcasing his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor.
Edwards will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during training camp.
His Exhibit 10 contract could be converted into a two-way deal, or he could begin his professional career with the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s G League affiliate.
