Milwaukee Bucks general manager Jon Horst confirmed Sunday that the franchise is still considering both trading Giannis Antetokounmpo and continuing to build a contender around him.
“Both paths are very alive for us,” Horst said. “We’ll explore and learn a lot in the coming weeks as to what the benefit for the organization will be.”
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Bucks are actively listening to trade offers involving Antetokounmpo while also exploring ways to improve the roster around him.
Milwaukee remained at No. 10 in the NBA Draft Lottery, and Horst said the pick could be used either to add young talent or as part of a trade package for veteran help.
He also confirmed the Bucks still have tradeable first-round picks in 2031 and 2033 available.
Earlier this week, co-owner Jimmy Haslam suggested a decision on Antetokounmpo’s future could come before the June 23-24 NBA Draft, though Horst avoided calling it a firm deadline.
“That is a deadline because it’s a draft, and a lot of those trades happen,” Horst said. “For us, it’s really about just having a great offseason and keeping both paths open.”
The Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets remain among the teams frequently connected to Antetokounmpo in trade speculation.
