The Portland Trail Blazers are moving closer to securing major funding for upgrades to the Moda Center.

Governor of the U.S. state of Oregon, Tina Kotek, signed Senate Bill 1501, allowing the state to contribute $365 million toward renovations, according to Bill Oram.

The proposal now moves to the Portland City Council for further consideration.

“The state has done its part and we’re not done,” Kotek said. “We are going to stay at the table, we are monitoring.

“We are going to watch this thing all the way to the end because this is a significant investment for the state.”
