Kevin Durant suffered a right knee contusion during practice this week and has been added to the Houston Rockets’ injury report ahead of Saturday’s Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
He is officially listed as questionable, though the team is hopeful the injury won’t significantly impact him during the series.
Houston will take on a Lakers squad dealing with major absences, as both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves are sidelined indefinitely.
With those injuries, the Rockets enter the matchup as clear favorites.
The series will also mark Durant’s first postseason meeting with LeBron James since the 2018 Finals.
In his first season with Houston after being traded from the Phoenix Suns, Durant averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
He assumed a larger offensive role following Fred VanVleet’s season-ending ACL injury before the year began.
