FC Bayern Munich finished its two-game trip through Italy with a statement win on Thursday, beating EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 94-84 at Unipol Forum. The result gave Bayern back-to-back road victories after Tuesday’s 85-80 result at Virtus Bologna and lifted the German club to 17-20 before its regular-season finale.

Milan opened well enough to match Bayern 20-20 after the first quarter, but the game changed quickly in the second. Bayern overwhelmed the hosts with pace, ball movement and perimeter shooting, building a 52-34 halftime lead and stretching the margin to 71-45 late in the third quarter.

Andi Obst led Bayern with 19 points and was the sharpest shooter on the floor when the game opened up. The wing scored 12 points in the third quarter alone as Bayern buried Milan with a barrage of assists and clean looks from deep.

Nenad Dimitrijevic also delivered against his former club, finishing with 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. The guard said the win carried value even though Bayern had already been eliminated from postseason contention.

Bayern head coach Svetislav Pesic praised the way his team handled the trip, pointing to the ball movement and low turnover count. Bayern finished with 27 assists and only nine turnovers, a strong formula for a road win in a difficult venue.

Milan made things uncomfortable late with an 18-3 run that cut the deficit to 79-75, but Bayern answered before the hosts could fully flip the game. Four other Bayern players scored 12 points, underlining the balanced scoring that kept Milan from loading up on one threat.

Shavon Shields led Milan with 14 points, while Armoni Brooks added 13 points and six rebounds. Milan shot 37.9 percent from three but could not survive Bayern’s 44.0 percent mark from long range, especially after the early deficit.

Bayern now closes its EuroLeague season at FC Barcelona on April 17. Milan ends its campaign with a trip to league leader Olympiacos Piraeus, looking to stop a slide that has seen it lose five of its last six games.
