As the New York Knicks prepare for the playoffs, guard Miles McBride encountered a minor setback in his return from a lengthy absence due to core muscle surgery, tweaking the injury in his first game back, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports.

Despite the scare, McBride said he had been warned that some discomfort could occur during the recovery process.

“It’s really just a part of the recovery process,” he said. “Basically everything was tightened, and now I’m back to moving around, so it’s just part of it.”

With postseason play approaching, McBride is taking a cautious approach to his ramp-up, focusing on being fully healthy rather than rushing back too quickly.

McBride has played 5 seasons for the Knicks. He has averaged 7.1 points in 275 regular-season games.
