Victor Wembanyama is listed as doubtful for Wednesday’s game against Portland, but there is confidence he will return for at least one of the Spurs’ final three regular-season games, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

His MRI came back clean, per Chris Haynes.

Wembanyama exited Monday’s game against Philadelphia at halftime with a left rib contusion after a fall in the first half.

He still played 16 minutes, which counts toward the NBA’s 65-game minimum for postseason awards.

To qualify, he must log at least 20 minutes in one of the final three games.

Even if he finishes with 64 appearances, he would still meet the requirement due to his participation in the NBA Cup final.

Before leaving Monday’s game, the 2023 No. 1 pick recorded 17 points, five rebounds, and three blocks.

If eligible, Wembanyama is expected to win Defensive Player of the Year and is also in the MVP race.

In ESPN’s latest straw poll, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led with 88 first-place votes, followed by Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic.

San Antonio’s main focus now is his health heading into the postseason, especially as he has also been dealing with right ankle soreness.
