The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Friday that Kevin Garnett will return to Target Center for Fan Appreciation Night on April 12, facing the New Orleans Pelicans. This marks his first appearance in Minneapolis since 2018 and celebrates his role as Team Ambassador.
Garnett, drafted fifth overall in 1995 out of Farragut Career Academy, spent 14 seasons with Minnesota. He won the 2004 NBA MVP, earned 10 All-Star selections, and received eight All-Defensive Team honors, including three First Team nods.
During the 2026–27 season, the franchise will honor Garnett by retiring his No. 21 jersey, with a ceremony scheduled later. He remains the Timberwolves’ all-time leader in points, rebounds, steals, blocks, games played, and minutes.
After leaving Minnesota, Garnett captured an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020. His career set the foundation for Minnesota’s second-most successful era in franchise history.
The 2025–26 Timberwolves are currently 46-30, sitting in sixth place in the competitive Western Conference. Anthony Edwards led the team with 29.3 points per game, while Julius Randle added 21.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. Jaden McDaniels contributed 14.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per night, providing support on both ends of the floor.
Minnesota’s final home game against the Pelicans will offer fans a chance to see Garnett in person for the first time in eight years. The team has yet to release full details for the jersey-raising ceremony, which will formally enshrine his legacy at Target Center.
