Even while away from the NBA, Masai Ujiri has remained active both personally and professionally. He shared that much of his time has been spent with family, including driving his children to their activities, while also continuing his efforts to expand sports development internationally.

“We just completed the sports city [in Rwanda] and now I’m doing things with the U.N. in the Sahel [region of north-central Africa]. And we’re going to open in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Mauritania in a few weeks. We made a pledge to build the sports complexes, and they’re absolutely incredible,” Ujiri said.

Through these initiatives, Ujiri continues to play a major role in growing basketball and sports infrastructure across Africa, even as he keeps his ambitions of returning to the NBA and competing for another championship firmly in mind.
