The Washington Wizards face the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night at the Delta Center, with both teams dealing with significant injury concerns entering the contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET in Salt Lake City.
Washington’s injury report remains extensive, with multiple starters and rotation players ruled out. The Wizards will be without Anthony Davis, Trae Young, Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, Tre Johnson, Cam Whitmore, and D’Angelo Russell.
Davis is sidelined due to a left finger sprain, while Young remains out with low back pain and a right quad contusion after appearing in just five games this season. Sarr, who has averaged 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds, is unavailable with left big toe capsulitis.
George and Johnson are also out, removing two perimeter options who combined for over 27 points per game. Whitmore is sidelined with a serious shoulder condition, and Russell is not with the team.
Bilal Coulibaly and Tristan Vukcevic are listed as questionable. Coulibaly has contributed 11.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game across 49 starts.
With much of the scoring unit unavailable, the Wizards are expected to rely on secondary contributors. Bub Carrington has averaged 10.2 points and 4.5 assists, while Jaden Hardy is providing 12.8 points per game off the bench.
Utah’s injury situation mirrors Washington’s in terms of volume and impact. The Jazz will be without Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, Walker Kessler, Jusuf Nurkic, Jaren Jackson Jr., Isaiah Collier, and Brice Sensabaugh.
Markkanen leads Utah with 26.7 points per game but is out with a right hip impingement. George, who averages 23.6 points and 6.1 assists, remains sidelined due to a hamstring strain.
Jackson is also out as he continues recovery from a knee injury, further limiting Utah’s defensive options in the paint.
Kyle Filipowski is listed as doubtful with an illness after playing in 70 games this season. Cody Williams is questionable with right shoulder soreness.
With primary scorers out, rookie Ace Bailey is expected to take on a larger role. He has averaged 13.4 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 44.7 percent from the field.
Both teams enter the matchup on losing streaks. Washington has dropped 16 straight games, including a 145-113 loss to the New York Knicks in its last outing.
Utah has lost two consecutive games, including a 143-127 defeat to the Toronto Raptors at home. The Jazz also won the previous meeting between the teams this season, 122-112 on March 5.
