Jordi Fernandez unsure Michael Porter Jr. will return this season

When asked about the possibility of Michael Porter Jr. returning this season after his right hamstring strain, the Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez avoided giving a definitive answer, as Brian Lewis of The New York Post relays.

With Porter expected to be sidelined for at least two-to-three weeks, Fernandez emphasized that any return would depend on how his recovery progresses.

“So, two or three weeks and then obviously there’s a ramp up to go back to a competition level,” Fernandez said. “We cannot predict but it’ll be close. So we’re going to go through these two, three weeks, put the work in and then we’ll see where we are.”

Porter has played 7 seasons for the Nuggets and Nets. He has averaged 17.3 points and 6.5 rebounds in 397 regular-season games. He has won 1 NBA championship.
