Coby White has seen a reduced role in terms of minutes since joining Charlotte compared to his time in Chicago, but he’s becoming increasingly effective in a sixth-man position.
Over his last three games, he’s averaging 23.0 points in 23.0 minutes while shooting an efficient .512/.417/.938.
Head coach Charles Lee praised White’s approach and development, noting that while he’s tried to blend in, the team wants him to stay aggressive and play to his strengths, per Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer.
“I appreciate his humility in wanting to kind of fit in, but he’s a heck of a player, and he’s gotta be himself,” Lee said.
“And I think the guys encouraged him and continue to do that too, and be aggressive. He’s another guy who can just generate more offense, get the offense flowing.
“He helps us get to the free throw line because he understands how to use his body, and when he feels contact he starts to get into his shot.
“But the passing has been really good, too. So I’m really proud of Coby’s growth and evolution since he’s been here.”
ICYMI: Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga (left knee) was out on Friday in Houston, but the expectation is that he’ll be available on Saturday for his first matchup with the Warriors. That + more from the Southeast. https://t.co/ygL4PqRzVc
