The Portland Trail Blazers escaped the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 108-104 win on Friday night.

Jerami Grant made a clutch three-pointer with 22.2 seconds left from an inbound pass by Jrue Holiday to the right corner.

Grant finished with 26 points, grabbed a defensive rebound at the other end, and made two free throws.

Donovan Clingan had 21 points and 12 boards for his sixth straight double-double. Deni Avdija added 25 points and eight rebounds, moving into eighth place in the Western Conference.

Holiday contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds.

On the other hand, Rudy Gobert led short-handed Minnesota with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Ayo Dosunmu added 17 points and tied a career high with 10 rebounds.

Julius Randle had 19 points for the Timberwolves, but they lost for the first time in three games without All-Star guard Anthony Edwards due to right knee inflammation, while Center Naz Reid, a top bench player, missed his second straight game with a right knee sprain.

Donte DiVincenzo missed a driving layup with 11.3 seconds to play that would have tied it.

Gobert missed twice before Grant grabbed his fifth rebound.

Portland led by 18 with two minutes left in the first half, but three triples by the Timberwolves get within single digits due to an 11-2 run.

DiVincenzo led the 18-7 run by the Timberwolves to tie it at 79 midway through the third.

Both teams will play road games on Sunday: the Trail Blazers visit Denver, while the Timberwolves visit Boston.
