Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. underwent an MRI on Wednesday that revealed a left hamstring strain, the team announced, and he will be reevaluated in two to three weeks.

With Brooklyn already out of playoff contention and only a few weeks left in the regular season, there’s a strong chance Porter has played his final game of 2025/26.

The 27-year-old appeared in 52 games in his first season with the Nets, averaging 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists on efficient shooting, with several career-best marks.

Porter last played on March 10 and had already been sidelined by a right ankle sprain, likely suffering the hamstring injury during his recovery.

He joins Egor Demin and Day’Ron Sharpe on the Nets’ growing injury list, opening the door for increased minutes for players like Danny Wolf, Josh Minott, and Ziaire Williams.

Porter is set to earn $40.8MM in 2026/27, the final year of his contract, and will be extension-eligible this offseason.
