Collin Murray-Boyles is getting close to returning for the Toronto Raptors after missing eight straight games with a sprained left thumb.
The rookie forward took part in practice on Tuesday, and according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca, the team will monitor how he responds before deciding on his availability for Wednesday’s game in Chicago.
If he isn’t cleared in time for that matchup, head coach Darko Rajakovic still expects Murray-Boyles to rejoin the lineup at some point during the upcoming five-game road trip, which begins Wednesday and runs through next week in Los Angeles, Lewenberg adds.
Prior to the injury, Murray-Boyles had worked his way into a significant role for Toronto.
He started 18 of his last 19 games, averaging 9.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.3 steals in 27.7 minutes per game, while shooting 60.3% from the field over that span.
