The Portland Trail Blazers controlled the game from the opening tip and rolled to a 114-95 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night at Barclays Center.

Portland set the tone early with a 10-0 run to open the first quarter and never trailed, building a 35-20 lead after one period behind efficient ball movement and transition scoring.

Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara led the scoring with 18 points each, combining for 13 made field goals while helping the Blazers maintain offensive balance across all four quarters.

The visitors extended their advantage in the second quarter by tightening their defense, holding Brooklyn to 30% shooting in the first half while taking a commanding 65-41 lead into the break.

Portland finished the night shooting 51% from the field and 42% from three-point range, numbers that reflected consistent shot creation and spacing against a struggling Nets defense.

Donovan Clingan anchored the interior with 14 points and 11 rebounds, recording a double-double while controlling the glass on both ends and limiting second-chance opportunities.

Scoot Henderson provided a scoring lift off the bench with 16 points, attacking downhill and converting efficiently in limited minutes to keep the pressure on Brooklyn’s second unit.

Jrue Holiday added 11 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, contributing across categories as Portland maintained control of tempo and limited turnovers to 18.

Brooklyn, playing without leading scorer Michael Porter Jr. due to an ankle injury, struggled to generate consistent offense and shot just 38% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc.

Nic Claxton led the Nets with 12 points and 11 rebounds, securing his 11th double-double of the season and the 87th of his career, moving him past Sam Bowie for eighth in franchise history.

Reserve Chaney Johnson scored 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while Tyson Etienne and Ben Saraf each added 15, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.

The loss marked Brooklyn’s fourth straight defeat and their 14th in the last 16 games, continuing a difficult stretch for the Eastern Conference side.

Portland, now 33-36, remains in the Western Conference play-in race and sits just a half-game behind the Golden State Warriors for the ninth seed.

The Trail Blazers continue their five-game road trip in Indiana on Wednesday, while the Nets return home to host the Oklahoma City Thunder.
