Zion Williamson reached an important contractual milestone Friday by appearing in his 51st game of the season, which increases the guaranteed portion of his 2026/27 salary, Bobby Marks of ESPN notes (Twitter links).

As a result, 60% of the New Orleans Pelicans forward’s $42.2MM salary for next season is now guaranteed.

Marks adds that Williamson can secure an additional 20% of that salary if he plays in at least 61 games this season.

The remaining 20% of the deal is tied to specific weight requirements that are outlined in the terms of his contract.

Williamson has played 6 seasons for the Pelicans. He has averaged 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 265 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games.
