Luka Doncic said basketball has helped him find relief as he deals with personal challenges off the court, explaining that playing gives him a sense of calm.
The Slovenian star addressed how he’s doing after scoring 51 points in the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday.
Reporter: Can I ask you to tell us in Slovenian how are you? How are you dealing with uncomfortable things on one side and on the other side you play games like that when it's sometimes even harder for you in some ways?

The performance came shortly after reports that he ended his engagement with longtime partner Anamaria Goltes and is involved in a custody dispute over their two daughters.
Speaking in his native language, Doncic said he is doing okay overall and remains focused on his responsibilities with the Lakers, noting that being on the court allows him to block out distractions.
According to a translation of his comments, playing for Los Angeles gives him “some kind of peace,” helping him clear his mind during games.
Doncic also talked about a recent visit to UCLA Health, saying spending time with young patients helped put things in perspective.
“You realize that you don’t really have problems in your life at all,” he said.
On the court, Doncic finished with 51 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and three steals as the Lakers defeated Chicago 142-130.
