The Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic enter Thursday’s meeting at Kia Center with several notable injuries that could affect rotations and matchup decisions.
Washington lists five players on its injury report ahead of the road game. Bub Carrington is questionable with right hip flexor soreness, creating uncertainty at the guard position.
Carrington has appeared in 64 games this season and averages 9.8 points and 4.6 assists in 27.6 minutes. D’Angelo Russell is listed as out due to being away from the team.
Anthony Davis is out with a left finger sprain. Washington will also be without Kyshawn George, who is sidelined with a left elbow sprain. The 22-year-old wing has been one of the team’s most consistent starters, averaging 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 48 games.
Cam Whitmore remains out due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.
The Wizards enter the matchup on a nine-game losing streak. Washington most recently fell 150-129 against Miami.
Orlando’s injury report is shorter but includes two rotation players. Anthony Black is out with a left lateral abdominal strain. Black averages 15.3 points, 3.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds across 60 games.
Franz Wagner is also unavailable as he manages a left high ankle sprain. The forward has averaged 21.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 28 appearances this season.
Despite Wagner’s absence, Orlando enters Thursday’s game in strong form. The Magic have won five straight games, including a 128-122 victory over Cleveland on Wednesday and a 130-91 win against Milwaukee earlier in the week.
Paolo Banchero leads Orlando’s offense with 22.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Desmond Bane adds 20.6 points and shoots 38.9 percent from three-point range.
This will be the fourth meeting between the teams this season. Orlando leads the series 2-1 after winning the most recent matchup 126-109 on March 3.
