Luke Kennard’s outstanding perimeter accuracy is giving the Los Angeles Lakers’ offense a major boost, according to Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times.

Entering Tuesday’s matchup, the Lakers guard had knocked down 56.1% of his three-point attempts over the previous six games, a stretch in which Los Angeles posted a 5-1 record.

Nguyen highlights how the team’s long-range efficiency has improved significantly since his arrival – the Lakers were connecting on 34.9% of their threes before the trade and have raised that mark to 39.2% with Kennard in the lineup.

The sharpshooting guard said playing alongside elite creators such as James and Luka Doncic has made his transition even smoother, allowing him to benefit from more open opportunities.

“It’s definitely something you think about like, ‘Man, I wish that was me there getting those open looks,’” Kennard said. “But now it’s a reality.”

Kennard has played 9 seasons for 5 teams, including the Grizzlies and Clippers. He has averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 521 regular-season games.
