Prodigy Alex Abrines will take a few days leave from the Spanish national team and fly to the United States to sign for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Abrines club from last season, Barcelona have officially announced his departure from the club today.

“Alex Abrines, until now a player FC Barcelona Lassa basketball, has informed the club of his decision to use the termination clause of the contract that was binding both parties, in order to join the Oklahoma City Thunder of the NBA,” the statement read.

“FC Barcelona appreciates the effort and professionalism of the player during the seasons he has worn the Barca jersey and wishes him well for the future, both professionally and personally.”

Abrines will sign a three-year deal, worth $18million. He was not used by coach Sergio Scariolo in Spain’s friendly loss to Lithuania on Monday.
