The Washington Wizards enter Sunday’s game at the Smoothie King Center with a heavily depleted roster.
Anthony Davis (left finger sprain), Kyshawn George (left elbow sprain), D’Angelo Russell (not with team), Tristan Vukcevic (left thigh contusion), Jamir Watkins (left ankle/foot sprain), and Cam Whitmore (right shoulder deep vein thrombosis) are all sidelined, according to the official NBA injury report.
Washington has struggled on the court recently, losing seven straight and posting a 16-46 record. The team has dropped its last two home games, including a 109-126 loss to Orlando and a 112-122 defeat to Utah.
The New Orleans Pelicans have fewer injury concerns, with only their G-League two-way players Trey Alexander, Hunter Dickinson, and Josh Oduro unavailable.
The Pelicans, sitting 13th in the Western Conference at 20-45, are coming off a narrow 116-118 loss at Phoenix and a 133-123 win over Sacramento. Zion Williamson continues to lead the team with 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, while Trey Murphy III contributes 21.9 points and 5.6 boards.
This matchup marks the second meeting of the season between the two teams. New Orleans won the first contest 128-107 in Washington on January 9.
Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM ET on Sunday, March 8 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
