Tristan Da Silva of the Orlando Magic has raised his level of play following the All-Star break, posting averages of 12.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal across eight games while logging just over 30 minutes per contest, Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel reports.
The second-year forward delivered another productive outing against Minnesota, recording 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
A Brazilian-German player also finished with a game-best plus-24 rating in 31 minutes on the floor.
Head coach Jamahl Mosley praised Da Silva’s professionalism and ability to adapt to fluctuating roles within the rotation.
“It’s not easy to do to go from starting to off the bench to back to starting to back off the bench,” Mosley said. “So, it says something about him as a professional. It says something about his work ethic and the coaches that work with him. It’s not easy to do.
“I know it looks like that because he comes in and shoots the heck out of the basketball, but the ability to do that and just play your part, whatever you’ve been given and tasked to do, he did that. And that’s what we need from our guys every night.”
Da Silva has played two seasons for the Magic. He has averaged 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 131 regular-season games.
