Kristaps Porzingis has recently increased his on-court activity, giving the Golden State Warriors optimism that his recovery is moving in the right direction, according to reporting from The Athletic.

The veteran big man joined Golden State on its current three-game road trip and said he has been feeling better after sitting out the last six games because of an illness.

However, head coach Steve Kerr stopped short of outlining a firm timetable for his return.

“He’s gonna get a workout today, and we’ll just take it day by day from there,” Kerr said.

A deeper report from ESPN examined the lingering and somewhat unclear illness that has bothered Porzingis for much of the past year, restricting his availability and allowing him to make only one appearance since the Warriors acquired him from Atlanta last month.

Within that same report, league sources indicated that Golden State also explored another major roster move before the trade deadline.

The Warriors were reportedly among the teams that checked on the availability of Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard ultimately remained in Los Angeles, even as the Clippers moved on from James Harden and Ivica Zubac in separate deals.
