Alperen Sengun scored 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting while Amen Thompson added 26 as the Houston Rockets overcame the Portland Trail Blazers 106-99 Friday at Toyota Center.

Houston trailed 85-77 early in the fourth quarter before a 23-4 run over nearly eight minutes turned the game in their favor.

Thompson scored eight points during the decisive stretch, and the Rockets shot 67% in the final period, outscoring Portland 29-17.

Kevin Durant contributed 20 points, helping Houston improve to 39-23 and maintain a tie for fourth in the Western Conference.

Portland was led by Jerami Grant with 21 points and Jrue Holiday with 20 points and 10 assists. Donovan Clingan added a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

The Blazers opened strong as Toumani Camara scored 14 first-quarter points, giving Portland a 34-27 lead.

Sengun scored 15 in the second quarter on 6-of-8 shooting, allowing Houston to take a 57-56 advantage into halftime.

Houston managed the win despite Sengun playing only 26 minutes due to foul trouble, and the Rockets rested Jabari Smith Jr. after his recent ankle injury. Portland was without All-Star Deni Avdija for the sixth straight game.

The Rockets will visit the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, while the Trail Blazers return home to face the Indiana Pacers.
