Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is nearing his return after recovering from an Achilles tear and is expected to be back in action this season.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Tatum could make his 2025/26 season debut as soon as Friday when Boston hosts the Dallas Mavericks.

The team has officially listed the player as questionable for the matchup, signaling that a return is a realistic possibility depending on how he feels leading up to the game.

Charania reported that the current expectation is for Tatum to be available to play, though the final determination will be made soon.

He is expected to evaluate how his body responds over the next day before confirming whether he will suit up for Friday’s contest.
