Stephen Curry has been out since Jan. 30 due to a lingering right knee issue, which has led to some speculation about whether the 37-year-old star might sit out the remainder of the season.

Warriors teammate Draymond Green addressed that possibility on his podcast, saying he doesn’t expect Curry to shut things down, according to Eden Collier of NBC Sports Bay Area.

“He was preparing to come back in the season where we had won 15 games (in 2019/20),” Green said. “So I say that from experience when I say, he’s not just going to shut it down just to shut it down. It’s not who he is.”

Without Curry, Golden State has struggled, slipping to a 31-30 record and holding only a narrow grip on the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

The team said Sunday that Curry won’t be reevaluated for another 10 days, suggesting his return may still be some time away.

Green also noted that team owner Joe Lacob would never support tanking, though he admitted the offense has been difficult to run without Curry and Jimmy Butler, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear.

“All you can do is continue to fight, make sure you’re maintaining and building good habits,” Green said. “Try to give yourself a chance to win these games.”
