The Trail Blazers are expected to sign forward Jayson Kent to a two-way contract, his agent Rob Anshila told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Kent went undrafted out of Texas last June after his fifth college season and earned his opportunity through a local tryout with Portland’s G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.
After transferring from Indiana State to Texas, he played a limited role for the Longhorns in 2024/25, averaging 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game.
In the G League, however, the 6’8″ forward has thrived as a three-and-D contributor, averaging 11.9 points and 4.1 rebounds on .483/.393/.921 shooting in 38 games.
Portland recently opened two two-way spots after promoting Sidy Cissoko and waiving Javonte Cooke.
Chris Youngblood filled one opening, and Kent is set to take the other alongside Caleb Love, who is nearing his 50-game limit.
If finalized Tuesday, Kent would be eligible for up to 12 games the rest of the season.
