Jaylen Brown added another notable achievement to his résumé, becoming the 12th player in franchise history to score 13,000 points in a Boston Celtics uniform, according to Brian Robb of MassLive.
Now serving as Boston’s primary scoring option for the first time in his career, Brown is strengthening his argument for MVP consideration with his elevated play.
Brown acknowledged that the team has had to recalibrate following changes at the trade deadline, including roster departures and the addition of Nikola Vucevic.
“We started to get going and a couple of guys are no longer on the team,” Brown said.
“So then we get (Nikola) Vucevic, so now our identity kind of shifts a little bit again. And I think we’ve done a good job of just being unselfish and playing Celtic basketball. And I think we’re starting to figure it out.”
Brown has played 10 seasons for the Celtics. He has averaged 19.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 657 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 4 All-Star games. He has won 1 Finals MVP award and 1 NBA championship.
ICYMI: Baylor Scheierman was in the Celtics' starting lineup Sunday night even though he fractured his left thumb in Friday’s win over Brooklyn. That + more on the Celtics. https://t.co/LTq3vZHfL2
