The San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers face notable injury challenges ahead of their first matchup of the season at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday, March 3. Spurs coach will have multiple two-way players sidelined, while the 76ers will miss several starters, including Joel Embiid and Paul George.

San Antonio’s roster will be without Harrison Ingram, David Jones Garcia, and Emanuel Miller, all on two-way assignments in the G League. Center Mason Plumlee remains out as he continues his return-to-competition reconditioning.

Despite these absences, the Spurs still feature Victor Wembanyama, who is averaging 23.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game this season.

Philadelphia will be without Embiid, sidelined with a right oblique strain, and George, serving a league suspension. Johni Broome is out recovering from right knee surgery. Doubtful status applies to MarJon Beauchamp, Tyrese Martin, and Dalen Terry, all two-way players in the G League. Kelly Oubre Jr. is available after recovering from a left knee injury but will wear a brace.

Tyrese Maxey leads the team with 29.1 points per game, while VJ Edgecombe contributes 15.5 points per contest.

The Spurs are coming off a 114-89 loss at the New York Knicks but had a 126-110 victory at Brooklyn on February 26. San Antonio sits second in the Western Conference with a 43-17 record and has won nine of their last ten games before Monday.

De’Aaron Fox averages 18.8 points and 6.2 assists, while Devin Vassell adds 14.4 points per game, making them critical contributors despite the missing two-way players.

Philadelphia enters the game with a 33-27 record, sixth in the Eastern Conference. The 76ers lost 114-98 to Boston on March 1 after defeating Miami 124-117 on February 26.

Tuesday’s tip-off at 8:00 PM ET will mark the first regular-season meeting between the two teams in 2025-26.
