The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings will face off at the Golden 1 Center on Tuesday, March 3, with both teams dealing significant injury concerns.
The Suns will be without Dillon Brooks (left hand fracture) and Jordan Goodwin (left calf strain), while Khaman Maluach (right thumb sprain) is listed as questionable.
Sacramento’s injury situation is more extensive. Dylan Cardwell (left ankle sprain), De’Andre Hunter (left eye retinal repair), Zach LaVine (left fifth finger tendon repair), Keegan Murray (left ankle sprain), and Domantas Sabonis (left knee meniscus repair) are all sidelined. Isaiah Stevens will be unavailable due to his two-way G League assignment.
Phoenix will rely heavily on Devin Booker, who averages 24.7 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game. Grayson Allen provides 17.5 points per game, while Collin Gillespie adds 13.5 points and 4.7 assists. Mark Williams is expected to anchor the paint, contributing 11.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
The Suns are coming off a narrow 113-110 win over the Lakers on February 26 after a 77-92 loss to the Trail Blazers four days earlier.
Sacramento faces a challenging rotation without LaVine, Sabonis, and Murray. DeMar DeRozan leads the team with 18.2 points and 4.0 assists per game, while Russell Westbrook adds 15.2 points and 6.3 assists. Maxime Raynaud provides frontcourt support with 10.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.
The Kings lost 110-113 at Phoenix on February 28 but beat Golden State 109-95 on February 26.
This season, the Suns have dominated head-to-head matchups, winning all three previous meetings, including a 129-102 victory on January 2 and a 120-116 win on October 22.
Sacramento will need bench contributions and defensive adjustments to compete against a Suns squad that ranks seventh in the Western Conference with a 34-26 record. The Kings remain last in the West at 14-48, emphasizing the uphill battle they face without key starters.
Tuesday’s game tip-off is scheduled for 11:00 PM ET.
